Concept

"§25/11 - House without domestic violence" is an initiative developed by SkF e. V. Berlin and the PEIX Health Group to combat domestic violence.

The campaign §25/11 refers to the 25.11. - the international day against violence against women - and is to provide for attention, where domestic violence takes place: in the dwellings. Among other things, posters and postcards were created for this purpose, and an art paragraph was developed that can be included as an annex in the lease agreement.

The neon green posters have been put up in over 1,600 hallways so far, reaching around 10,000 households. Anyone can request posters and raise awareness among tenants: paragraph2511.de

The posters show several motifs: first, positioning the house community for safety and respect, and second, contrasting common rental information with a question alluding to domestic violence.

In addition, homeowners and landlords can make a statement against domestic violence with a branded brick on the front of the building.

There is support for the initiative from the wider community: 45 members of the Bundestag as well as presenters and artists are among the supporters. Mechthild Rawert, former member of the Bundestag, SPD, is the patron of the initiative.

Furthermore, the system will be included in the first leases of a Berlin housing association.
